Adding Indicators (The Only 5 You Need)
Don't add 20 indicators. Your chart will look like a mess.
Indicator 1: Moving Averages (MUST HAVE)
How to add:- Top toolbar → "Indicators" → Search "Moving Average"
- Add three MAs:
- 20 SMA (blue, short-term)
- 50 SMA (orange, medium-term)
- 200 SMA (red, long-term — THE MOST IMPORTANT)

- RSI > 70 = Overbought (sell zone)
- RSI < 30 = Oversold (buy zone)
Indicator 3: Volume (Already There!)
Volume bars are at the bottom by default.
How to use:- High volume + price move = REAL move
- Low volume + price move = fakeout
- Price above Volume MA = Healthy uptrend
- Price below Volume MA = Weak uptrend
Indicator 4: MACD (Advanced)
How to add:- "Indicators" → Search "MACD"
- Default settings — don't change
- MACD crosses ABOVE signal = Bullish
- MACD crosses BELOW signal = Bearish
Indicator 5: Bollinger Bands (Advanced)
How to add:- "Indicators" → Search "Bollinger Bands"
- Default settings (20, 2) — don't change
- Price touches upper band = Overbought
- Price touches lower band = Oversold
- Bands squeeze = Big move coming
Drawing Tools (The Secret Weapon)
Tool 1: Horizontal Line (Support/Resistance)
How to add:- Left toolbar → "Crosshair" icon → "Horizontal Line"
- Draw at major support/resistance levels
- Price bounces off line = Strong level
- Price breaks line = Weak level (or breakout)
Tool 2: Trendline (Uptrends/Downtrends)
How to add:- Left toolbar → "Trendline" icon
- Connect 2+ swing lows (uptrend) or 2+ swing highs (downtrend)
- Price above trendline = Uptrend (buy dips)

- Wait for price to drop to 0.618 → BUY
- Wait for price to rally to 0.618 → SELL

Common TradingView Mistakes)
1. Adding 20 Indicators
The mistake: "More indicators = better!" The reality: Paralysis by analysis. You'll never trade. The fix: Stick to 3-5 indicators MAX.2. Staring at 5-Minute Chart
The mistake: "I need to catch every wiggle!" The reality: You'll overtrade and lose money. The fix: Use daily chart (1D) for analysis. Check 4-hour for entry.3. Not Saving Layouts
The mistake: Setting up chart daily. The reality: Wastes 30 minutes every day. The fix: Save layout ONCE. Load it forever.4. Ignoring Alerts
The mistake: "I'll just watch the chart 24/7!" The reality: You'll overtrade from boredom. The fix: Set alerts. Close the app. Wait for the signal. The Bottom Line)
TradingView is the only charting platform you need.
To master it:- Use daily chart (1D) for beginners
- Add 3-5 indicators (MAs, RSI, Volume)
- Draw support/resistance (horizontal lines)
- Save your layout (don't redo it daily)
- Set alerts (trade without staring at charts)
